Promise This. Buy my second album

After last nights news that Cheryl Cole has become the fastest selling artist of 2010 so far with her second album, Messy Little Raindrops, being a fan I could not wait to buy it and see what it was like.

When Cheryl first went solo I have to admit that I was not keen on 'Fight For This Love'. I don't know what it was about the song but it just didn't sound right, something that I also thought about 'Promise This' the first time I heard it.

However now I have developed a real liking to both songs. I don't know what it is about the songs but they definitely grow on you if you let them. I bought her first album '3 Words' and instantly liked all of the songs. I did not think there was a bad song on that album and having listened to 'Messy Little Raindrops' this afternoon my opinions on Cole's second album are the same.

I know that not everyone reading this will agree with me but I have to say, I can see why she has rushed to the top spot in the charts ahead of Rhianna. (I am not saying that Rhianna is rubbish before anybody thinks I am, her performance on The X Factor last night was brilliant and she is also a very good artist).

My favourite song on the album is 'Raindrops' and it is completely different to what I have heard Cheryl do before. It is a much slower song and it really does show off her voice. I could listen to it over and over again. It reminds me of her version of 'Fireflies' that she did for Radio 1's Live Lounge or 'Set The Fire To The Third Bar', a song she performed with Snow Patrol at last years Children In Need Rocks The Royal Albert Hall concert.

With Cole's success comes and X Factor failure. Why is Wagner still in? Who is voting for him and how was Katie in the bottom two again?

Oh and can we please try and get Gavin Henson out of Strictly? My ironing board moves better than him!

Can't read my pumpkinface.

I was going to post on here yesterday but to be completely honest, yesterday was a bit of a wasted day.
Harroween
I went to a halloween party on Friday night in Harrow complete with a pumpkin mask from Sainsbury's and two bottles of white wine. The party was really good, I think the bonfire out in the garden made it. I love sitting outside around a fire, even if my clothes did stink the next morning.

Needless to say I spent half of yesterday in bed nursing a hangover and when I did eventually surface I was faced with the task of cleaning my flat from top to bottom. So, I got up had a b
acon sandwich and a cup of tea and set to work. Bedding in the machine and cleaning products out of the cupboard I was ready to go. Two hours later after endless scrubbing, hoovering and wiping I had a spotless flat. I just wonder how long it will last. I am a very tidy person though.

They've Strictly got The X Factor
I was planning on doing some work yesterday as well but the half of the day I spent in bed completely wrote this off. I had some tea and settled down in front of Strictly and The X Factor. They were most definitely the best episodes so far, both having halloween specials. I also fell in love a bit more with Cher Lloyd who ditched the rapping this week and sang completely on her own. Her performance was completely stripped down and she completely nailed it.

Arguments and disagreement were also very visible in both programmes with Len Goodman and Brendan Cole falling out on Strictly and continued banter between Simon, Cheryl, Louis and Dannii reached new heights. It was all very entertaining to watch.

Calling Corrie fans
This morning I woke up refreshed with the extra hour we all got today. Hello GMT! I don't know whether the extra hour has increased my motivation but I have actually achieved some progress today as far as my uni work is concerned. My first draft of my radio documentary is complete. All I need now are some interviews so if anyone out there really likes or loathes Coronation Street please let me know. I could do with some telephone interviews.

Now it is back to more work while I have the television on quietly in the background.
